Stop Work Safety Policy
Rock Leaf Water Environmental takes safety seriously. The purpose of this policy is to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees by empowering them to stop work if they identify any unsafe conditions or actions that could result in injury or harm. This policy outlines the procedure for reporting and resolving safety concerns in a timely and effective manner.
Scope:
This policy applies to all employees and contractors at Rock Leaf Water Environmental.

Right to Stop Work:
Every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work if they identify a situation that poses an imminent risk to health, safety, or the environment.
No employee will face retaliation or disciplinary action for exercising their right to stop work.
Immediate Action:
Upon identifying a safety concern, the employee must immediately cease the activity and notify the Safety Supervisor.
The Safety Supervisor will assess the situation and take appropriate measures to secure the area and prevent further risk.
No employee will face retaliation or disciplinary action for communicating any safety concerns to leadership and bypassing the onsite Safety Supervisor.
Notification to Leadership before resuming activities:
The Safety Supervisor must promptly notify a member of the leadership team about the stop work incident.
The notification should include a description of the unsafe condition or action, the steps taken to rectify the situation, and any immediate solutions implemented.
Leadership Involvement:
The leadership team member will collaborate with the Safety Supervisor to evaluate the situation and ensure all safety protocols have been met.
Together, they will determine if it is safe to resume work or if additional corrective actions are needed.
Documentation and Follow-Up:
The Safety Supervisor must document the stop work incident, including the details of the unsafe condition, actions taken, and resolution.
A follow-up investigation will be conducted to identify the root cause and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
All findings and corrective actions will be recorded and reviewed by the leadership team.
Communication and Training:
This policy will be communicated to all employees and contractors.
Regular training sessions will be conducted to ensure everyone understands their right to stop work and the proper procedures to follow.
Responsibilities:
Employees: Must stop work if they identify an unsafe condition and report it immediately.
Safety Supervisor: Must assess the situation, take corrective action, notify leadership, and get leadership approval that a safe environment exists before resuming work.
Leadership Team: Must assist in evaluating the situation and ensuring all safety protocols are met.
