Rock Leaf Water Environmental was founded in 2020 by Shelly Binsfeld. Through her work with the Sherburne Soil and Water Conservation District and as an Aquatic Invasive Species Detector, Shelly saw firsthand how the choices businesses and communities make show up in the land and water around them.

The name comes from a visit to the headwaters of the Mississippi River where water moves over boulders, becomes a small creek, and over many miles grows into a major river. Rock Leaf started with the same idea: steady, local work that adds up over time.

Shelly formed Rock Leaf to make environmental help easy for businesses and government agencies to reach. The firm responds quickly to spills, contamination, and other hazardous conditions, and works to restore the land and water affected by them. Rock Leaf is rooted in its community, committed to quality local jobs, and built on strong working relationships with the people it serves.
